Living Limitless Collective: Building a Community Where Everyone Belongs
In a world where connection can often feel out of reach for individuals with developmental disabilities, Living Limitless Collective is redefining what community truly means. Founded in 2025 by Mariah Gunnin, Director of Operations, the organization was born from a simple yet powerful vision: to create a space where individuals can experience genuine belonging, build confidence, and live beyond limitations.
What began as a few small gatherings quickly evolved into something much greater. Families were not just looking for programs; they were searching for connection. Participants wanted friendships, independence, and opportunities to explore their interests in a supportive environment. Living Limitless Collective stepped in to fill that gap, offering a place where individuals can show up as they are and feel fully accepted.
Gunnin’s inspiration is deeply personal. Having grown up alongside close family friends within the developmental disabilities community, she witnessed both the incredible strengths of individuals and the challenges they faced as they aged out of traditional programs. “I wanted to create something that focuses less on limitations and more on possibility,” she shares. That philosophy is at the heart of everything Living Limitless Collective offers.
At its core, the organization is about more than participation, it is about belonging. Through programs like the Art & Social Club, Coffee & Conversation meetups, Hiking Club, and Photography Club, members are given opportunities to connect, create, and grow. Each gathering is thoughtfully designed to encourage interaction in a natural and comfortable way, allowing friendships to form organically while building essential social skills.
Creative expression plays a central role in this journey. Whether through painting, photography, or hands-on projects, members are encouraged to explore who they are without pressure. This process fosters confidence, independence, and a sense of accomplishment that extends far beyond the activity itself.
The impact has been profound. Members who once felt unsure are now forming friendships, expressing themselves, and looking forward to each gathering with excitement. Families have found not just support, but a true sense of community.
Looking ahead, Living Limitless Collective has an inspiring vision for the future, including a dedicated community space designed specifically for its members. With art studios, social areas, and opportunities for independent living, the goal is to create a place where individuals can continue to grow, connect, and thrive.
For Gunnin, the mission remains clear: “When people are given the opportunity, support, and space to connect, they can do incredible things.”
