Meet Madison Marigold SCV Influencer
High school is a balancing act for any student – from AP classes to extracurricular activities to having any kind of social life. But one student, Madison Marigold, does all that and more. Madison is an AP student, ASB board leader, choir member and an up-and-coming pop star.
“It is definitely a challenge to maintain success in both school and music,” Madison said, “but I work extremely hard to make sure I put effort in both activities.”
Madison began singing at age 10, playing piano at eight and guitar at nine. Before her family knew it, she was writing and recording her own songs.
“I began my career singing the National Anthem for local charities like the Michael Hoefflin Foundation and Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, [as well as] doing small community shows around Santa Clarita and Los Angeles,” Madison said.
Madison’s career took off when she was sent to Chang Jiang to open for superstar Demi Lovato at a music festival in 2015. Although her voice is enough to move even the hardest of listens, she dazzled the crowd with fluent Mandarin. “When the people who were planning the festival heard my songs and heard that I was proficient in speaking Chinese, they asked if I would be interested,” Madison said. “I was extremely humbled and honored by the opportunity. It has been a huge stepping stone for my career.”
After taking three years of Mandarin at Saugus High School, Madison showed off her skills, singing half of her set in Chinese, in front of thousands of native speakers.
“I hope to release my music and promote it around the world,” Madison said. “It would be a dream come true to be able to travel around the world singing my music and making people feel good.”
