How do I vet an interior decorator before I settle on someone?
When you select a designer, choose one who has a similar decorating style as yours, so you’ll know you’re both heading in the same direction.  Always ask to view each decorator’s portfolio.  If you like a specific room in the portfolio, ask how much it cost.  Always ask for references during the interview, and actually call the references for your top two or three selections.  Lastly, discuss the payment method up-front.

What’s the difference between a framed and frameless shower door?
Frameless shower doors are hugely popular right now.  It is considered a high-end design upgrade that opens up the bathroom space and accents the style of the room, whatever that may be.  Less metal means the door is generally easier to clean, as well.  They are usually made with ½” or 3/8” glass.
Framed doors can also be beautiful and generally provide better leak resistance.  Usually they consist of an aluminum frame and 3/16” -1/4” glass.  If an obscure glass is needed, this is the more affordable option.

How can I easily and beautifully transform a piece of furniture with just paint?
The advanced formula of Chalk Paint ® Decorative Paint by Annie Sloan makes any instant furniture upgrade a breeze.  This desk was refinished with Annie Sloan’s clouded stippled technique.  We used two different colors: Paris Grey and Old White.  To achieve the desired look, we went back and forth with both colors and blended them.  Then we added two coats of Graphite to the top of the desk.  For an extra element of elegance, we used the Springtime in Paris stencil in Old White and applied the Paris Postage Stamp stencil to the desktop.  The entire piece was finished with a clear and dark soft wax. What is safety glass and why do I need it in my home or office?
“Safety glass” is a term given to specific types of glass that when broken will break in such a way as to minimize potential injury to people.
