Ringing in the New Year with Honorby Stephanie Struyck Elgin It was a beautiful day in Pasadena at the 2011 Tournament of Roses Parade. As the stunning floats made their way down Colorado Boulevard, there was one in particular that we should be proud of, the only float that received a standing ovation the entire parade route. Santa Clarita residents Jerry and Merrie Thomsen saw their efforts unfold as their float, “Remember, Reflect and Renew” honoring those involved with the attacks on America on 9/11, came to life. “It was such a great experience, truly overwhelming and nonetheless unforgettable,” states Jerry. |
