Congratulations to Steve Sturgeon and Elizabeth Hopp who were named the 2013 Santa Clarita Valley Man and Woman of the Year. Steve and Elizabeth were honored for their commitment to making our community a great one through their outstanding volunteer services.
Owner of Confidential Data Destruction and AVM Technologies, Steve made his home in the Santa Clarita Valley in 1980. He has volunteered with Rotary International where he has served over a 10-year term and continues to be a part of the organization. Steve was also elected in 1999 to the William S. Hart Union High School Board of Trustees. This is his 17th year serving local school districts and State committees in a variety of roles. Having chaired many events, which helped benefit, the needs of the children in this valley, The Child & Center Foundation and Rotary Club of SC were proud to nominate Steve for Santa Clarita Man of the Year.
Senior Vice President of the Bank of Santa Clarita, Elizabeth Hopp joins the ranks of many of the greats who have served as Santa Clarita Valley Woman of the Year. Elizabeth, who was nominated by the Michael Hoefflin Foundation for Children’s Cancer, has been a committee chair for many events as well as served on numerous boards. Elizabeth has lived in the Santa Clarita Valley for over 30 years and began her career in banking in 1969. She is currently the Senior Vice President/Regional Manager at Bank of Santa Clarita.
