The Sheila R. Veloz Breast Center is created through the experiences of breast cancer survivors and their families, many of whom began their survivor’s journey with their diagnosis at Henry Mayo. Today women can find all the services they need through the Sheila R. Veloz Breast Center and the hospital’s community cancer center. Known for quality breast care, the Sheila R. Veloz Breast Center attracts patients throughout the west coast.
Central to the Sheila R. Veloz Breast Center’s personalized care is a breast health navigator who gives patients emotional support and information as they go from diagnosis through treatment and recovery.  To ensure patients receive optimal care, a team of specialists meet regularly at Henry Mayo to review breast cancer cases.  The group includes breast surgeons, radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, a pathologist, a diagnostic radiologist, the breast health navigator, and sometimes a plastic surgeon and the patient’s primary physician. 
Created under the leadership of Ferguson, Dr. Gregory Senofsky, the breast center’s medical director, and Terry Bucknall, director, women’s imaging services, the center’s reputation is growing as one of the most experienced in fighting breast disease effectively.
