Sisley – Gets a ‘Dramatic and Unexpected Renovation’
Foodies of the Santa Clarita Valley have a new reason to rejoice as Sisley reveals a dramatic renovation, scheduled for an unveiling in early 2017. The new Sisley will feature a stunning bar, new interior decor, enhanced patios and an updated menu.
“We intend to provide a social experience that doesn’t exist yet in the Santa Clarita Valley, through intensely detailed designs and various choices of seating,” Co-owner Francine Alba said.
Sisley’s most loyal patrons need not fret – the familiar family-run vibe and authentic, home-cooked dishes will remain a staple of the longstanding local establishment.
“When we first came to Santa Clarita in 1993, we brought a large, Los Angles-style open kitchen experience that didn’t exist in this community yet,” Co-owner Francine Alba said. “We’re seeking to do the same thing, by bringing a kind of dining and social atmosphere we’ve experienced in our travels, and we are eager to share with our customers.”
With their second unveiling, Owners Francine and Jamie Alba plan to bring new flavors into an energized space – a fusion of urban and elegant décor that brings something new to the local dining scene. The food also will continue to make health a central focus.
“Many nutritionists agree that a Mediterranean diet is the healthiest way to eat today,” Francine added. “We’re bringing a greater health focus to our menu, without losing our taste or traditional flavors.”
In addition to Sisley’s homemade culinary favorites, the owners are introducing new and exciting flavors throughout the year with Mary’s Free Range Chicken, farm to table specials and organic choices.
“We will round out your experience with custom cocktails and a perfect choice of beer and wine,” Fran said.
Because of its delicious food and family feel, Santa Clarita residents have long cherished Sisley as their daily dining option, drink destination and a space worthy of celebrating birthdays, graduations and other milestones. Sisley’s deep roots with Santa Clarita date back to just after they opened in December 1993, when following the January 1994 earthquake, they were one of the first places to re-open their doors, and welcome people affected by the disaster.
“We were up and running two days after the quake, and dozens of local residents who were forced out of their homes ate breakfast, lunch and dinner with us,” she said. “To this day, we’re still very close with many of those customers.”
Over the years Sisley has employed more than 3,000 local residents in their Valencia restaurant.
“Today, we have second generation Sisley employees – we even have children of the original opening staff – working with us,” Francine said. “Over a dozen couples have met at our various locations and have gone on to get married and have Sisley children, as well. There must be some kind of love potion in our food!”
Romance has long characterized Sisley, as its casual yet elegant atmosphere and “hideaway” location is perfect for all kinds of occasions – from family celebrations to business meetings to first dates – some that led to forever loves.
“We’ve been honored to welcome the community in as family over the years, and the community has responded by showing us just as much love in return,” Jamie said. “We can hardly wait to bring all of our friends and customers something new to love.”
