After working with music giants Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez and more, Santa Clarita native and acclaimed songwriter Julia Michaels landed a solo deal with Republic Records.
After spending years behind the scenes, Julia’s many multiplatinum hits have paid off as she writes her own ticket to solo stardom.  For the first time, the renowned songwriter is now stepping into the limelight herself.
Julia is one of the industry’s top songwriters, producing chart-topping hits alongside her songwriting partner Justin Tranter, including Justin Bieber’s Sorry, Selena Gomez’s Good For You, Hailee Steinfeld’s Love Myself, and more.  To date the songs Julia has co-written exceed eight billion streams, with the consumption equivalent of more than 50 million songs sold worldwide.
Julia is in the process of recording her debut EP, due to be released early 2017.
“Julia Michaels, LA-based singer-songwriter, is taking the industry by storm.  The 21-year-old had her breakout year as a songwriter in 2013 when she co-wrote Selena Gomez’s platinum single Slow Down, 5th Harmony’s Miss Movin’ On, and Demi Lovato’s Fire Starter, alongside notable songwriter Lindy Robbins,” according to her bio on Advanced Alternative Media.
Prior to her success as a songwriter, Julia recorded her debut single, Born to Party, at the young age of 16.  The single aired on MTV’s reality series The Hills and on ABC Family’s The Lying Game.  Later that year, she released a self-titled EP through SA Trackworks.
In 2013, she also co-wrote the theme song for Disney’s Austin & Ally with Mike McGarity and Joleen Belle.  The following year, Julia was the vocalist and co-writer on Borgeous’s Invincible and Wildfire, as well as Cash Cash’s Surrender.
In 2015, Julia’s biggest year yet, she appeared as a feature on Jason Derulo’s Trade Hearts, where she lent her talents as a vocalist and co-writer.  Julia also collaborated with Zedd on his new album, True Colors, where she co-wrote three tracks, including the single Papercut (ft. Troye Sivan).  Her vocals also appear uncredited on her other two Zedd tracks, Daisy and Straight Into the Fire.  Julia also co-wrote War Paint, which appeared on Kelly Clarkson’s seventh studio album, Piece by Piece.
Other releases for 2015 include the proven successful songs Good For You (ft. A$AP Rocky) by Selena Gomez, Poison by Rita Ora, and Hailee Steinfeld’s debut single Love Myself.
