Take the Kids
Now that summer is here, more than a few parents have asked, “what should my kids do with their newfound free time?” And while there are countless opportunities for daytrips and adventures throughout southern California, families in Santa Clarita don’t have to travel far for a good time. Whether you are interested in entertainment, history, animals or just going out and having a good time, there’s something for all families to do in Santa Clarita.
The Gentle Barn
The Gentle Barn rescues severely abused and neglected animals, provides them sanctuary, and uses their stories to give hope and inspiration to abused children.
On Sundays, families can come to
visit the horses, cows, goats and more.
The Gentle Barn is also open during the week for private tours and field trips.

Animal Tracks
The goal of Animal Tracks is to provide a safe, enjoyable home for animals that can’t be returned to the wild, and to educate the public about them. A number of exotic animals have found a home at Animal Tracks, including a baboon, kangaroo, alligator, emu and more. These animals can be seen up close by children five years and older through a guided tour.

William S. Hart Regional Park
A cowboy movie star during the silent film era, Willian S. Hart donated his vast 265-acre ranch for the enjoyment of
the public. The park features plenty of room for children to play, farm animals, a herd of bison, and Hart’s home, which has been converted into a museum. The museum is an excellent place to teach children about the silent film era,
