It’s the “Oscars of the Hair Industry” and every year, the best of the best are honored at the North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA), the most prestigious photographic beauty competition in North America. With a total of 14 categories, encompassing salons from the United States, Canada and Mexico, only five finalists in each category are chosen for nomination. Categories include Avant Garde, Contemporary Classic, Editorial, Haircolor, Hairstylist of the Year, Make-up Artist of the Year, Master Hairstylist of the Year, Mens Hairstylist of the Year, Newcomer Stylist of the Year, Salon Design, Salon MBA, Salon Team, Student Hairstylist of the Year and Texture. Congratulations to Salon Glo, located here in the Santa Clarita Valley, for being nominated as a finalist for Salon Design. “This is an incredible honor to even be nominated when you consider that out of three countries, there is only a total of five finalists per category, and Salon Glo is one of them,” states Rick Foster, who is the manager and co-owner of the salon. Salon Glo opened in 2009 in the Bridgeport Marketplace. Owner Dan Csicsai waited for the right opportunity to open his first hair salon. Having travelled all over the world, Dan has brought his passion and expertise to Valencia, creating cutting edge hairstyles in a modern and beautiful salon. Dan and his partner Rick have created an elite team of experts, giving you the look and style you’ve always wanted. On July 15, Extra’s Mario Lopez will host the North American Hairstyling Awards in Las Vegas, Nevada, in a star-studded Awards Ceremony, where Salon Glo will be recognized as a finalist. Winners from each category will also be announced that evening. “It truly is a dream come true to create a successful business and a strong team of excellent talent,” states Dan. “To have our salon nominated in NAHA, is the icing on the cake. Having grown up here in the Santa Clarita Valley makes me even more proud to have a salon in Valencia recognized on this international stage.”
