Wedding Trends 2017 – Cover Story
Trends are simply ideas that gain notoriety and become popular. Why stick to one style when you can have it all? Weddings now-a-days are about celebrating the couple. It’s not exclusively about the bride; grooms are also taking center stage in fashion, photography and the details. Wedding party gifts are being replaced with wedding weekend celebrations, and some brides are even foregoing the forever dress to rent a designer gown for the day. The sky is truly the limit, and if there is one trend we are forecasting at élite Weddings, it’s that this year will be the year of details.
The Dress
Why wear one dress when you have options? Local business owner and 30-year Santa Clarita bridal authority, Adriana Cruz shares, “We are seeing a lot of interest in options for our brides. Strapless gowns can be transformed with a bodysuit layered underneath. Long sleeves will be the absolute highlight of 2017, and boy are we excited about it.”
The Florals
Unique blooms, pops of vivid color and the blend of foliage are taking center stage! Seasonal blooms have gained popularity over traditional florals, and boutonnieres are seeing a complete overhaul in design. Mixed media has found its way into the new design trend, and you may even find a vegetable or prop thrown in the mix.
The Cake
So much has evolved in the pastry world, at times, it is hard to keep up. Leading the trends from last year, cupcake towers and dessert tables are still sought-after requests of the bride and groom. And new flavor profiles are being created by the dozen, some even pairing with the savory menu. Sweet guest gifts are also trending! Who doesn’t want to take home some chocolate bark at the end of the evening?
