A Message from the Associate Publisher Alexander Hafizi – July/August 2024
With a heavy heart, I share the news of my dear friend Mike Parker’s passing, he was just 36 years old! It’s difficult to find the right words to express the profound sense of loss and sadness that accompanies this news. Mike was not just a valued member of our community; he was kind, inspirational, and a true friend to many.
My journey with Mike started in 2011 when he started dating one of my best friends, Lindsey James. He would come to every event he was invited to with such a happy and great attitude. His infectious enthusiasm and remarkable kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He approached every task with a level of passion and commitment that was truly inspiring. Mike had a unique ability to see the best in people and situations, always offering a helping hand and a word of encouragement.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mike was a person of great character and integrity. His generosity and compassion extended far beyond the confines of his work. He was a true friend to many, always ready to lend an ear or provide support in times of need. His sense of humor and positive outlook on life were a source of strength and comfort to those around him.
One of my fondest memories with Mike is from our trip to Vegas. Mike was raving about his breakfast burritos and was excited to make them for us. When he did, they were fantastic, just like everything else he did with such enthusiasm and care.
One of Mike’s most enduring legacies is the profound impact he had on the lives of his friends and colleagues. His ability to connect with people on a personal level made him an irreplaceable part of our community. Whether through his insightful advice, his warm smile, or his unyielding support, Mike left an indelible mark on my heart.
As I mourn the loss of my dear friend, I also celebrate the wonderful memories we shared. Mike’s spirit will continue to live on in the stories I tell, the laughter I share, and the lives he touched. I am grateful for the time I had with him and will forever cherish his memory.
My thoughts and prayers are with Lindsey James, my dear friend and Mike’s girlfriend, and Mike’s family and loved ones during this difficult time. Let us come together to honor his legacy and support one another as we navigate this profound loss.
Until Next Time,
Alexander Hafizi & Arnold Bryant

There’s a reason the classic TV show Cheers still resonates: it painted a picture of a place where you could walk in, feel instantly welcomed, and know you belonged. A place where people didn’t just know your name — they knew your story. In many ways, that same spirit...
