A Message from the Associate Publisher Alexander Hafizi – Nov/Dec 2025
The holiday season is officially upon us , a time to pause, reflect, and celebrate the spirit of giving that makes the Santa Clarita Valley such a special place to call home. As we wrap up another incredible year, I’m reminded of how fortunate we are to live in a community filled with compassion, creativity, and heart. This issue captures that beautifully, showcasing the people, places, and organizations that truly make a difference.
On our cover, we shine a spotlight on the SCV Senior Center’s Meals on Wheels Program, a lifeline for so many of our local seniors. This remarkable program does more than just deliver meals; it delivers friendship, comfort, and care to those who need it most. Each knock on the door is a reminder that community means showing up for one another.
In Close-Up, we feature several inspiring individuals: Chef and Actor Luca Toumadi, who combines his culinary passion and creative energy to bring joy to others; Master Sergeant Lucas R. Hilmo, whose dedication and leadership exemplify the courage and strength of our nation’s servicemembers; and Jimmie Johnson, who shares personal lessons of growth, change, and perseverance in his new book A Coming-of-Age.
For those looking for a little relaxation, our Great Escape whisks readers away to the Allegretto Resort in Paso Robles, where art, architecture, and wine country serenity combine for a rejuvenating weekend retreat.
Our Spotlight feature shines on the Include Everyone Project, a nonprofit that continues to break down barriers and create opportunities for individuals of all abilities to learn, work, and thrive. And for music lovers, we revisit the late-’90s alternative rock scene with Neve, the band behind the hit “It’s Over Now,” returning to the stage for a special 25th Anniversary Concert at the Whisky A Go Go on November 1st.
In our Automotive feature, The Heart of the Road, we highlight Valencia Acura, Mercedes-Benz of Valencia, and the Valencia Auto Center, businesses that not only keep Santa Clarita on the move, but also give back generously through sponsorships, community partnerships, and charitable involvement all year long.
The holiday spirit continues with a preview of Henry Mayo’s Annual Home Tour, starting on December 3rd. This long-standing tradition transforms local homes into festive showcases, raising funds that support vital hospital programs and services.
In our SCV History section, the Canyon Questers are once again teaming up with the Santa Clarita Valley Historical Society to restore and reopen the historic Kingsburry and Edison Houses, treasured reminders of our community’s heritage and the ongoing importance of preservation.
Our Looking Back feature is a heartfelt tribute to Terry Schwartz, a graceful and beautiful member of our community who has passed away. Terry’s warmth, kindness, and dedication left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her, and her legacy continues to shine brightly in Santa Clarita.
We also celebrate excellence with our Ultimate Awards Dining Winners, a showcase of local culinary talent that makes dining out in the SCV such a treat. And don’t forget voting is now open for our Ladies in Business Awards, honoring the incredible women entrepreneurs and leaders shaping our community’s future.
From the City of Santa Clarita, we highlight the return of Light Up Main Street on November 15th, an event that officially kicks off the holiday season downtown, as well as the city’s efforts in Building Memories One Park at a Time, continuing their mission to create spaces where families can gather, play, and make lasting memories.
Our Calendar of Events is overflowing with festivities, fundraisers, and holiday happenings through November and December — from concerts and galas to charity events and parades. It’s truly a wonderful time to get out, connect, and celebrate all that our valley has to offer.
In Eve Wine 101, Eve Bushman shares tips on Dining Out Like a Sommelier, helping you navigate the wine list like a pro, while Larry McClements brings comfort and flavor to your kitchen with his delicious Chicken Piccata Pasta recipe. And in Business, our VIA column provides smart advice for setting your business up for success as we head into 2026.
As we close out the year, I want to personally thank you, our readers, advertisers, and community partners for your continued support. Every story we share and every issue we print is a reflection of this incredible community we’re proud to call home.
From all of us at SCV élite Magazine, we wish you a joyful, peaceful, and love-filled holiday season. Here’s to a bright and hopeful 2026!
Until Next time, Alexander Hafizi & Arnold Bryant

Where Everybody Knows Your Name – And Your Goals
There’s a reason the classic TV show Cheers still resonates: it painted a picture of a place where you could walk in, feel instantly welcomed, and know you belonged. A place where people didn’t just know your name — they knew your story. In many ways, that same spirit...
