It was a nearly sold out crowd of approximately 640 people as guests were entertained at the 5th Annual Dancing With Our Stars event presented by The Magazine of Santa Clarita and élite Magazine!
The star-studded evening began with a VIP reception and show to follow at Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons on Friday, August 22.
Opening up the evening was a performance by the award winning Hart High School Dance Team along with a performance from various dancers at Dwilfri DanceArt & Entertainment.
Sixteen Santa Clarita celebrities paired up with the pros to dance their hearts out for their non-profit organizations, raising $195,000 for our local charities. John Musella took home the gold as he danced his way to first place with Kayla Burkhead for the Child & Family Center, raising the most money for the event. Captain Roosevelt Johnson, dancing with Ingrid Blanco, took second place as they danced for the SCV Sheriff Foundation, and third place went to Lauri Tucci Augier, dancing for Single Mothers Outreach with Jose Valencia. Celebrity judges Marlee Lauffer, KTLA’s morning news co-anchor Chris Schauble joined Marlee Lauffer and Cheri Fleming as the guest judges. Best male dancer went to Chris Donald, dancing with Jessica Beck for the SCV Chamber of Commerce and Lauri Tucci Augier took top prize as best female dancer.
Since its inception, Dancing With Our Stars has raised over $840,000 for our local non-profit organizations!
