An Eventful Summer in Santa Clarita
Along with summer comes a plethora of incredible events for all ages, and with Santa Clarita’s picturesque parks, vibrant community centers and endless opportunities for outdoor activities, there’s something for everyone in the coming months. Whether you enjoy live music, being exposed to different cultures and traditions from around the world, a night out at a block party with friends and family or simply watching your favorite film under the stars, Santa Clarita has an event this summer that will speak to you.
A long-running favorite event series loved by many Santa Clarita residents is Concerts in the Park, presented by Logix Federal Credit Union. City staff has crafted an impressive lineup of musicians ranging from rock, metal, pop and more, eager to put on an amazing show this summer. The first concert of the year kicks off on Saturday, July 8, with Hard Day’s Night: A Tribute to the Beatles, followed by Wild Shot: A Tribute to Guns N’ Roses on Saturday, July 15, and performances by A Twist on Taylor: A Tribute to Taylor Swift, 90s Rock Show and Queen Nation: A Tribute to Queen, just to name a few. Located at Central Park on Saturdays, each show will begin at 7:00 p.m. with food vendors onsite beginning at 5:00 p.m. Grab your spot early, enjoy a meal before the show and prepare to get on your feet and rock with your friends and family.
Have you always wanted to travel the world to experience something new, try a foreign food or learn a different language? At the Celebrate event series, this and more is possible, just by visiting the Canyon Country Community Center. Every second Friday of the month from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m., Celebrate features a different culture and showcases their art, music, food and history. This summer, get ready to become immersed in the traditions and customs of Peru, Spain, the Fernandeño Tataviam Band of Mission Indians and China. Expand your knowledge on other cultures with Celebrate!
There’s something breathtaking about laying under the stars while watching your favorite movie. This year, City Cinemas in the Park makes its anticipated return with a catalog full of classics and new favorites each month from June through October. Grab your popcorn, candy and soft drink for The Little Rascals, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, Back to the Future, Top Gun: Maverick and Hocus Pocus. Let loose with live music, food trucks, themed activities and adult beverages at SENSES Block Party every third Thursday on Main Street through October. SENSES takes over Main Street with a different themed night each month, featuring Game Night, Tropical Summer, Renaissance Faire, Tailgate and Monster Mash. Grab a drink from the on-street bar and dance the night away. You won’t want to miss this fun and festive adult setting in the heart of Old Town Newhall.
