Hey everyone! I’m back with another great recipe for you. I don’t know about you, but it is officially my favorite time of the year. Move over Summer, Fall is here! The leaves are changing and the weather is cooling down (FINALLY). I love this time of year because it means The Holidays are near…and holidays mean treats, a lot of them! I bet you thought I was going to throw a typical pumpkin spice inspired recipe at you, well not this time! Keep on reading to get to the good part, aka the recipe for a perfect Apple Crisp.
This recipe features all the flavors you look for in an autumn dessert. I’m talking about all those spices and comfort flavors. I love this Apple Crisp because it’s such an easy, delicious dessert, plus your house will smell A-mazing. It is the perfect Fall (or let’s be real, ANY time of year) dessert, and I make this more often than I’d like to admit! It has always been a staple dessert in our household, thanks to my Mom. I hope you enjoy it as much as my family does. As always, if you make any of the recipes from my articles, tag me on Instagram: @HugsandCookiesXO

• 1/3 cup unsalted butter, cut into small cubes
For the Apple filling:
• 3-4 large Granny Smith apples, peeled and thinly sliced
• 3 Tbsp. butter melted
• 2 Tbsp. flour

• 3 Tbsp. milk
• 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

For serving (optional) • Vanilla Ice Cream
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
For the topping:
In a medium size bowl, combine the crumb topping ingredients with a fork or pastry blender until it resembles small crumbs. Refrigerate while you make the apple filling.
For the Apple Filling:
In a small bowl, combine melted butter and flour until well blended. Add lemon juice, milk and vanilla and stir well. Stir in brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Pour butter mixture over apples and toss to coat. Pour apple mixture into an 8×8-inch baking dish and spread into an even layer. Sprinkle the crumb topping evenly over the apples. Bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown and top is set. Remove from oven and allow to cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.
Serve with Vanilla Ice Cream, if desired.
Baking Tip: If you want to make a larger one, double the recipe and bake in a 9×13” pan.
