SANTA CLARITA’S OLYMPIAN Kevin Mather
After an accident in July of 2009, Kevin Mather’s life was changed forever – but that didn’t mean he couldn’t still achieve great things. Kevin is a Paralympic gold medalist, having racked up an impressive set of athletic achievements thus far in his life. He participated in this year’s Paralympic Games in Tokyo, taking home a gold medal in the Archery Individual Recurve Open as the only Paralympic representative from the Santa Clarita Valley. Before that, he won the wheelchair division of the L.A. Marathon and later began professionally pursuing the sport of Archery in 2017. He’s a former Ironman triathlete and has been working to take home the gold since 2017. When he’s not practicing or enjoying his flights as an officially rated pilot, he’s spending time with friends and loved ones, making the most of every moment as they come along.
