The Heart Behind Liz Anne Designs: Crafting Spaces That Let Every Voice Be Heard
For years, interior designer Elizabeth Woolley has approached every project with one guiding belief. Every person deserves to be heard. It is the foundation of Liz Anne Designs and the reason she launched her firm. By remaining independent from manufacturers or product lines, Elizabeth ensures her clients receive design solutions that reflect their personal style, needs and vision.
Her creative journey has been shaped not only by her love of design, but also by personal experiences that taught her the importance of listening. After years of feeling unheard in her former marriage, she built her business around honoring each client’s desires. That commitment has become her signature approach. Rather than impose a single style, she begins every project with a discovery phase that uncovers who her clients are and how they want to live. She uses sketches, floor plans and mood boards to show how form and function can work together to create a cohesive, beautiful space. The installation stage becomes the moment when her clients see their lifestyle come to life.
Elizabeth draws deeply from history and gravitates toward natural materials that support timeless design and environmental responsibility. She believes design should evolve with people, and her work throughout the Santa Clarita Valley reflects that. She loves working in a community she describes as kind, stylish and down to earth.
Her portfolio ranges from intimate residential spaces to large scale transformations. One favorite project is the renovation of the 360 Suites on Smyth. Working with Fred Arnold, she redesigned the interior from the walls out, creating a polished and inspiring environment that still stands out as a career highlight.
Running a design studio has its challenges, especially sourcing products in a constantly changing market, but Elizabeth meets them with determination and a willingness to adapt. She stays motivated by attending trade shows such as High Point, studying trends, taking educational courses and staying connected with top business leaders through her networking group.
Elizabeth hopes her clients feel peace and joy long after a project is complete. Looking ahead, she dreams of opening a retail and showroom space where she can mentor young designers. With major kitchen and bath renovations already booked for January, Liz Anne Designs is poised for another exciting year.
To Elizabeth, creativity is the art of turning imagination into a space that feels like home. Her advice to aspiring designers is simple. Do what you love, and let your passion shape the world around you.
