You’ve Got a Friend at City Hall!

Did you know there are more than 400 fulltime City of Santa Clarita employees who work in 20 specific divisions in eight different departments? They each have a very specific job that provides a resource, program, service or project that benefits you – Santa Clarita residents!
This year, the City of Santa Clarita has been highlighting different City divisions through the “You’ve Got a Friend at City Hall” campaign. The City is showcasing the work that each group does, how it benefits residents and how you can access the services and resources the City provides.
You have most likely seen the campaign posters at bus stops, on social media and within the pages of Santa Clarita Magazine. City employees are being featured in creative and bold movie-style posters which showcase Tech Services employees connecting high-speed fiber, Librarians traveling to magical places through books, lifeguards making a splash at City pools and much more.
Residents can even get a peek inside City Hall through the “You’ve Got a Friend at City Hall” Instagram takeovers. City staffers take over the story section of the City’s Instagram page to answer questions, share a look at their day-to-day responsibilities and have some fun. When you visit the City’s page you can watch a City building inspector check out a home, see lifeguards test pool chemicals and find out how Economic Development staffers bring businesses to our City.
The next group that will be featured is the dedicated and hardworking team in Human Resources. When it comes to discovering and cultivating the City workforce, that job falls to Human Resources. With a mission to recruit, develop, support and motivate employees in alignment with the City’s philosophy and goals, they are committed to developing and maintaining a highly skilled and diverse workforce that prides itself on service excellence. This includes preparing employees for emergency situations, as well as mitigating and managing risks to the organization. Each year Human Resources conducts nearly 175 recruitments conducts more than 60 training and development sessions and facilitates over 40 wellness activities for staff!
