An Adventure Above Ground in Wrightwood, California
For some, sitting across from friends as you sip a glass of wine is an adventure. For others, feeling the air whoosh past your face while suspended several hundred feet in the air is the best feeling in the world! There is a place where you can enjoy them both!
Ziplines at Pacific Crest is home to some of the most thrilling high-adventure zipline courses in the nation. Located just 75 miles from Los Angeles, right above Rancho Cucamonga in the San Gabriel Mountains and next to Mountain High Resort. The zipline courses showcase the rugged beauty of the surrounding areas and use innovative design and installation methods to deliver beautiful views, big zip lines, and big-time fun for people of all ages. All features of Ziplines at Pacific Crest are built to meet the requirements of the Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT), which is accredited by the American National Standards Institute, and all guides undergo rigorous training in accordance with the ACCT. The tours are entirely tree-based and use innovative design and installations to minimize environmental impact while maximizing safety. The tour courses feature a series of platforms connected by sky bridges, stairs, trails, rappels, and ziplines ranging from 200 to 1,500 feet in length, including one that sends guests soaring 300 feet above the canyon floor.
There are several package options that are sure to keep the fun alive. There is even a Full Moon Zipline (available only to return guests) where you and your friends are able to soar through the skies under the moonlight. élite Magazine had the opportunity to try the Mountain view tour, a two and half hour adventure which included: six ziplines (up to 1100 feet long and 150 feet above the forest floor), two leaps of faith (this is leaping off tree platforms in a controlled free-fall) and three short hikes amongst the beauty of the forest. In this tour we were accompanied by two highly-trained guides who were very knowledgeable and passionate about the forest and ziplining. They kept us laughing and the good times rolling while ensuring safety and precaution.
