An Entertainer’s Dream in Castaic
Located in Castaic, this issue’s million-dollar home boasts space, breath-taking views and is an entertainer’s dream. This home has over 3,000 square feet of living space on a nearly 14-acre lot that backs up to mountain views. Owned by the Bennett Family, they have created a cozy welcoming environment for their children, grandchildren and friends. Far from being the typical grandparents home with doilies and plastic on the furniture, the homeowners have designed a modern approach, where throughout the home you will find upscale farmhouse décor, buffalo plaid accents and high-end fixtures.
Sitting at the end of a private driveway, there is plenty of parking space for big family functions. It also contains a gated RV parking area and 3-car garage. The front of the home is lush with a manicured lawn and shrubs with a stoned walkway. Walking through the front entryway to the front door, the homeowners use similar decorations as a hint of what the rest of the home will look like. The entry has enough space for an outdoor sitting area to enjoy in the early mornings or late afternoons. As you walk through the front door you are met with an open living concept with many windows to allow natural lighting to fill the home. With light tile flooring and cream walls the space seems even larger, the homeowners chose to add hints of dark wood furniture to contrast with the floor and walls while providing subtle ways to draw your eyes to the various spaces.
Immediately to the left of the entryway is a formal living area that opens up to the formal dining. This wide-open space continues with chic farmhouse décor, a large dining table to fit their growing family and accent chairs with antique clock patterns and buffalo plaid throw pillows to really add flair to the space. To the right of the entryway, is the expansive kitchen with a large island that can fit five adults seated. The kitchen overlooks the family room that is equipped with a big screen tv and fireplace making for a cozy entertainment spot all-year round. Throughout the living spaces, the windows allow you to overlook the backyard which makes this home an entertainer’s dream.
One feature that truly makes this house grand is the layout of the master suite from the guest rooms with both being on opposite ends of the home. When designing the guest rooms, the homeowners made sure to have dedicated rooms for the grandchildren and all of their toys, but throughout the home you will find small tables, chairs and things to keep the little ones entertained while the adults are hanging out. The remaining rooms are used as an office/music room with white finishes and custom built-ins and a guest bedroom. The master suite combines a unique mixture of traditional farmhouse with chestnut wood furniture, antique trunks and suitcases, and barn doors leading to the master bathroom.
With the large infinity pool, sport court, putting green, horseshoe pit, BBQ Cook-station and parking for a dozen vehicles, the backyard has everything the family needs to get together and have fun. The pebble tech pool is huge and features 12 ft depth, slide & dive rocks and a beach entry. The views from it are panoramic with nothing but wide-open spaces and mountains. There is plenty of shaded area under the patio for guests too, making this the perfect hang out for the summer.
The homeowners have turned the garage into the perfect mancave. It is fit with tool boxes, a hang-out area to enjoy with family and friends and classic cars. This retro inspired man cave completes the home aesthetic.
