Santa Clarita is among the safest communities in California, and much of that acclaim belongs to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff deputies and volunteers who work diligently to keep our homes, schools and businesses, safe.  These men and women are one of the many reasons we have such a great community.  While our city is protected, we are far behind neighboring small cities in having a mobile command post, outfitted with necessary state-of-the-art electronic communication equipment, with work stations to manage remote disasters, emergency supplies, maps, disaster plans and so forth.  A mobile command post would help facilitate and be ready to manage the intense requirements present during fires, earthquake situations, criminal investigation sites and more.  The cost to purchase an Incident Command Post will cost over $200,000.
Our SCV Sheriff’s Foundation, a non-profit public benefit corporation, has launched a campaign to raise funds for the purchase of a new self-contained Incident Command Post (ICP).  The Foundation has partnered up with Princess Cruises for an Opportunity Drawing for a luxury Princess Cruise for two in an effort to raise funds for the much needed ICP.
Tickets are only $5 each and are available at the SCV Sheriff’s Station, AMS Fulfillment, KHTS AM-1220, Confidential Data Destruction, The Magazine of Santa Clarita, and Valencia Acura.  You can purchase as many tickets as you wish, as there is no limit.  Tickets are available now through October.  The raffle is scheduled for October, and the lucky winner will receive a beautiful balcony stateroom for a seven-day cruise for two to either the festive Mexican Riviera or the beautiful Caribbean.  Onboard the Princess ship, you will receive world class dining, entertainment, luxurious spa treatments and more.  While on shore, take part in water sports, shopping and escape to the beautiful white sand beaches.
The proceeds from the raffle will go toward the purchase of a new mobile command post to be used in emergency situations and at special events.  The ICP will be equipped with the latest technology.
With the generous help of the residents and businesses, we too, can show our support by recognizing the efforts of our public safety professionals and help them in their mission of keeping Santa Clarita safe.   Show your support by being a part of the SCV Sheriff’s Foundation and Princess Cruises Opportunity Drawing.  To  request a complete set of rules or for more information, please contact the Foundation office at 661-799-5813 or send an email to info@scvsheriffsfoundation.org.  The winner must be at least 18 years old and will be drawn in October. There is no need to be present.  The prize is non-transferable.
